Many people think that yoga is about self-improvement. While it's true that practicing yoga can lead to improvement in many areas of one's life, including reducing stress, improving health, and increasing creativity, the actual goal of yoga is not self-improvement but Self-realization; that is becoming aware of our true Self. Along the way, self-improvement naturally occurs as a side-effect. It is important to remain aware of the real purpose of yoga.
