Thought Bite: Everyday Miracles

One day, suddenly, I experienced everything around me as miraculous. Temporarily drawn out of the mundane mentality where things just seemed ordinary, I perceived nothing as plain and everything as amazing.

This experience happened many decades ago and the memory of it has remained with me all these years. Yet all too often I fall into the habit of experiencing life as ordinary again. Then, when I remember to do so, I remind myself to see deeper, to experience in the moment, and to not be lulled by the habit of mind to ignore the miraculous that is in every instant.

Each of us can do this. Meditation is the way.
