Thought Bite: Finding The Still Point in Life

Change definitely can be challenging, with every thing moving inexorably toward who-knows-where. I remember a time when with all my strength I wanted things to just stop. When that happened, I imagined pushing my feet into the ground as if to stop the Earth from spinning, to stop change. But didn't know how to do so. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever wanted things to stop, at least for a time, so you could rest? The truth is that life is change, constant change. Yet it makes sense to seek stillness, and there is a way to obtain this stillness. This way is called meditation. Meditating is like moving to the hub of a bicycle wheel, around which the wheel turns. When in our center, in our hub, we are in a still place, and from this place we can observe the outer movement. This rest is available every day. Find the still center of your life. Meditate.
