Thought Bite: If you don't refine your emotions, nobody will do it for you.

We tend to take our emotions as givens, as if they are fixed and natural and unalterable. Someone who gets angry often likely thinks, "this is the way I am," not realizing this emotional-habit can be transformed into something more positive. A meditator seeks to transform his/her emotional habits and cultivate a consistently pleasant state of mind, called "Saumya Mind". Otherwise, deep states of meditation won't be reached due to disturbances from emotions.
